Deeply saddened by the sudden loss of James W. Vaupel, their dear colleague and founding Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre on Population Dynamics, they would like to share with you moments of reflection and remembering at the occasion of what would have been his 77th birthday.

Vaupel’s contribution to science, scientific community and to nurturing young talents. Through personal memories of colleagues, students, and friends, the event will be a celebration of James W. Vaupel’s living legacy.

Condolences
It is the family’s wish to hold a private burial.
To express your condolences, his family feels that rather than with a wreath James would have preferred people to commemorate him by buying a good bottle of wine and a nice dinner and celebrate the joy of life together with those dear to you.
