Call for Papers - Genus Thematic Series: Healthy Life Expectancy: New Methods, New Insights
As populations worldwide continue to age, understanding not just how long people live, but how many of those years are spent in good health has become essential for policy planning and healthcare resource allocation. This thematic series in Genus aims to highlight new contributions to the measurement and comparison of healthy life expectancy (HLE), bridging methodological advancements with empirical applications.
We welcome both methodological innovations and empirical work that applies recently proposed methods to explain trends and inequalities in HLE. Topics include but are not limited to: inconsistencies between measurement approaches, state space definitions, new synthetic indices, indirect methods, and field-testing or comparing different methodologies.
