On Monday, 21 January 2019, partners and colaborators of Population Europe met in Berlin to discuss population diversity as a trend for the future. The so called "Schlossgespräch" took part in the ESMT Berlin.
The meeting was moderated by Andreas Edel, Executive Secretary Population Europe, and featured welcome speeches by Günter Stock, Chairman of the Einstein Foundation Berlin, and Sabine Kunst, President of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Presentations were given be seven leading researchers in the field of social science:

- Melinda C. Mills (University of Oxford): A Sociogenomic Approach to Fertility
- Norbert F. Schneider (German Federal Institute of Population Research, Wiesbaden): How Unequal is Germany? Regional Disparities From the Perspective of Population Studies
- Anette E. Fasang (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) Intersectional Inequalities in Work and Family Life Courses
