Virtual UK-India Interdisciplinary Panel Discussion to coincide with the 2021 United Nations International Day of Older Persons, hosted jointly by the University of Southampton India Centre and the Department of Demography and Population Research Centre at the University of Kerala.
The interdisciplinary panel consisting of experts from UK and India will discuss the wider social, cultural, behavioral and policy dimensions underlying the digital divide and its influence on older people, highlighting the challenges in terms of equity in access, use and potential vulnerabilities.
How do we address inequality in older people's access to digital resources, and how can we empower older people with digital literacy?
What research evidence do we have to understand and quantify the impact of digital connectivity on older people's health and wellbeing?
How can we ensure safer digital platforms and reduce older people's vulnerability to increasing online cyber crimes? How can we design the digital technology interface more user friendly for older people?
