IAB (Inserm, Grenoble) and the Centre for Research on Social Inequality (CRIS), Sciences Po, Paris, are recruiting two doctoral or postdoctoral researchers to join the ANR-funded BREATHE project.
BREATHE investigates how air pollution and other environmental factors — including heat and vegetation — affect children’s cognitive development in France. The project also examines how these environmental risks contribute to socio-economic inequalities in child development.
Two positions are available: one at CRIS, Sciences Po, supervised by Lidia Panico, and one at IAB/Inserm, Grenoble, supervised by Johanna Lepeule. Depending on the successful candidate’s profile, the appointment may take the form of a three-year doctoral contract or a two-year postdoctoral contract. Preferred start dates are in early 2027, with some flexibility.
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in social sciences, epidemiology or statistics, and experience in quantitative methods and data preparation and analysis. Proficiency in R, Python and/or Stata, as well as fluency in English, is expected.
Application deadline: November 13th, 2026.
