Description

 

As the COVID-19 epidemic has spread across Europe and beyond, border closures are deeply affecting migrants. 

 

  • Asylum seekers face additional obstacles in accessing protection and have mostly ended up stranded in reception centres and refugee camps. 
  • Migrant caregivers are losing their jobs or face additional obstacles in leaving situations of abuse.

During this webinar, migration scholars will take stock of legal and policy measures adopted in the EU and Canada, discuss how these measures have impacted vulnerable migrants and examine some of the solutions that have been set in motion. Following five short presentations, the speakers will take your questions!
