Eurostat is working on a policy initiative on European statistics on population.

The initiative foresees a new regulatory framework for European statistics on population bringing together demographic, migration and census data. These data are currently collected from Member States separately, with different periodicities and different legal bases. The initiative aims to ensure that population statistics remain relevant, coherent and comparable in the face of demographic, migratory, social and economic changes in society. Further information about Eurostat’s work in the domains of demography, migration and population and housing census is available on our website: https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/population/overview.

The evaluation roadmap/inception impact assessment are open for feedback from professionals and citizens until 5 May 2021.

They kindly invite you to contribute to the consultation which is published at the following page: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/12958-European-statistics-on-population-ESOP. Feedback will be taken into account for further development and fine tuning of the initiative.
